The Faculty Study Abroad Grant is designed to give Kalamazoo College faculty an opportunity to make personal and professional contact with colleagues and program staff at one of the local universities that host a Kalamazoo-sponsored study abroad program. Such visits can be the primary purpose of a faculty member’s application for funding or be an additional project to be carried out in conjunction with another professional international activity.
Awards will be based upon an evaluation of the applicant’s plan for the visit with preference given to those faculty members who have not been abroad to a Kalamazoo study abroad program location within the past five years. Applicants should submit a completed application to the Center for International Programs via Hornet Passport for consideration by the Experiential Education Committee.
The typical grant is $2,700 to $3,000. Faculty Study Abroad Grants may be used in conjunction with Faculty Development funding. Due to rising costs of airfare, we encourage you to submit an application sooner rather than later. For questions please email Lizbeth Mendoza Pineda at Lizbeth.Pineda@kzoo.edu or schedule an appointment with Lizbeth.
